Satuj Toracsi

Drawing done for the Potluck Secret Satan for Starr_n_art (instagram), of their character Satuj. This is probably one of my most up to date fully fleshed drawings with a background, and I put a lot of work on figuring out the small thins here and there. The character had extensive information, and the setting was very well fleshed, which gave me a lot of room to work with.

The character was one of the many scientists in charge of a project that would pierce the protective mantle of the world (in order to obtain energy), which went terribly wrong and instead opened a hole through which eldritch entities started to bleed through. The city in the background is mostly in ruins and corrupted from the eldritch incident. I had so much fun figuring out how a world ruined that way would look like.

A much earlier stage of the drawing. The character is mostly rendered here (not overpainted), and the background was just blocked in

Some 5 minute studies of rocks to get used to the brushes I'd use in this project (which was made almost entirely in CSP). The black opal is actually the tip of the character's staff, but it's barely visible in the finished drawing.

More plant studies. I wanted to give an uneasy feeling with these

More plant studies. The eldritch stuff in this setting is often colored in white, and hence I made the tips glow that way.

Another study. The trees ended up looking differently, but this was an earlier concept for it.
